Call of Duty: Black Ops is best overall because it has NAZI Zombies and more DLC maps but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's campaign is awesome and the Black Ops' campaign is just plain terrible!!!!
It's a matter of opinion. MW3 is the most popular, some are deterred by the matchmaking. Black ops's campaign is nothing special and MW2's is good...although MW2 still has the bad matchmaking on MP. My favourite is currently CoD4 (MW1) as it is simple, guns, perks and generally gameplay. Server based MP. Try demos or YouTube.
