AnswerAccording to the Book of Genesis, the biblical Flood was approximately 1,656 years after the creation. This means that the Flood would have taken place about 2340 BCE. In terms of recreating the earth after the Flood, The Bible does not say how God restored the vegetation that would have been needed to feed all the animals, but which would have been destroyed under the Flood.

On the other hand, there is a total lack of scientific evidence for any flood as described in the Bible. Nor is there any rational explanation for where the water came from, or where it went after the Flood. Moreover, other civilisations are known to have continued undisturbed throughout the entire period attributed to the Flood. The simple answer is, there was no Flood; God did not recreate the earth.

A:

Noah's Ark held two of each land animal, which is generally enough for continuation of the species, although we now know that this would cause problems through a lack of genetic diversity. However, the Ark does not appear to have contained any plants or trees to replace those destroyed by the year-long Flood.

After the waters receded, Noah and his sons would have taken all the animals back to their original locations. He would have taken the two koalas and the various wallabies back to the Australian temperate forests, tree kangaroos to New Guinea and desert lizards to the inland desert. The fact that there was only one pair of beavers, for example, must have caused a problem - he could have taken them to North America, but until recently they were also common in Europe and there are still some European beavers in Poland. Taking penguins back to Antarctica must have presented a challenge, and it would have been very tempting to drop them off in the Arctic region to save a long and perilous sea journey.
