In a debate defending the negative side, why shouldn't Thomas More yielded to King Henry?
When William Warham, the Archbishop of Canterybury, died, Henry saw an opportunity to put someone in the Archbishopric that would be amenable to annulling his marriage to Catherine. He used his power as King to have Thomas Cranmer, the Archdeacon of Taunton, appointed to the position. Cranmer received the sanction of Pope Clement VII and then proceeded to lead Henry's reformation and split from the Holy Roman Church creating the Church of England. Henry got his divine annulment as well as excommunication for himself and Cranmer. Cranmer was put to death by burning for the crime of heresy in 1556, nine years after Henry's death.

No, King Henry VII was King Henry VIII's father.
Sire Thomas More was an intellectual and humanist during Henry VIII's reign. Thomas More was a member of the King's Council as well as Speaker of the House in Parliament. Thomas More acted as Henry VIII's close adviser and confident. After the dismissal of Cardinal Wolsey, Thomas More was also appointed as the Chancellor to King Henry VIII.
King Henry 8 of England pulled the English church out from the authority of the Pope. He left the Roman Catholic organization. He had Archbishop Cranmer translate the Greek Orthodox worship service for its use. And Cranmer also wrote brief articles of faith. So it has Roman Catholic organization, Greek Orthodox worship and spirituality, and Protestant theology.
