Feudalism is said to have started with the defeat of King Harold by William the Conqueror in The Battle of Hastings in 1066. With the defeat of King Harold was the defeat of Anglo-saxon rule of England. But originally, it was the Germans and Romans ideas that formed the basis of Feudalism.

The Feudal System was created by William the Conqueror. He did it to gain control over Britian. It was not created in Rome. People think these strange things but it was William that created the system.

The same time. In order to get protection from the roving Celtic tribes people banded together after the fall of Rome in 410 AD. When Rome fell there was no government, no services, no protection so people needed to be guided and the strongest rose to the task. They become the nobility and everyone else falls into place as one of the three estates of nobility, church, or peasant .
