Suburban has always been a Chevrolet. From 1936 through 1999 GM built and sold the Chevrolet Suburban and the GMC Suburban as separate models, although they were basically the same vehicle. In 2000 the GMC version was changed to the Yukon XL and the Denali in 4wd full trim level.
