You should change a timing belt on a 2001 Honda van at about 100,000 km it's always a good thing to also change the water pump, because it is in the same place. You save on time and labour and they usually go at about the same time. The last thing you want is to do the timing belt and the water pump go's on you then your doing the same job twice.
Your best bet remove the top cover and inspect the belt for cracks or tears.
I hope that answers your question.
Honda recommends replacing the belt & water pump every 100,000 miles or 161,000 kilometers. Inspecting the belt is meaningless. It can look great and be ready to break. Warning: This is an interference engine and as such if the belt breaks you will serious internal engine damage. Do not neglect this maintenance.
Both the I4 and V6 engine in the Accord have timing belts.
When should the timing belts be changed on a 2001 Mitsubishi, Galant?
From introduction through 2001 model year they had timing BELTS.Starting with the 2002 model year they were equipped with CHAINS.
Belt! Change at 7 years or 160,000 kms.
A timing belt for a 2001 Honda Civic Lx needs to be replaced every 110,000 miles unless it is being driven in extremely hot or cold temperatures.

Around how much would it cost to replace timing belts and timing change on a 2001 Hyundai Sonata?
Yes . . . it has a timing chain.
Most Timing Belts are changed at 60,000 miles. Calling a Ford Dealership would be more specific though.
According to the Gates website ( they make timing belts etc. ) The 3.0 liter V6 engine in a 2001 Toyota Highlander has a timing BELT , the recommended change is done every 90,000 miles and it is not an interference engine
When you replace the timing belt you should also replace the water pump, seals, coolant and other belts (per the Honda guys). It cost me a little over $700 for my 2001 Accord V6. Spendy but necessary since it gets you another 100,000 miles or so. jw
It must have a TIMING CHAIN because Gates ( they make timing belts etc . ) does not list a timing belt for the 2001 Chev Cavalier 2.2 L
I have the very same car and was just about to bring it in at Honda for a timing belt and water pump and oil change. However, once I arrived at Honda the person told me I am a year early for the timing belt change. I have 125,000km. She said for my vehicle its 160,000km or 7 years to change the belt. I was shocked and am now researching this...that's how I found this question. GL
I don't know about 2006, in the 2001 it's at 105k miles
3.3L and 3.8L engines have a timing chain. All other engines have timing belts
