When i attempt to accelerate quickly flooring it my car grinds and stops accelerating it runs and drives great when i don't floor it its a 1995 Volvo 850 turbo FWD AT i think its the transmission or?

This has happen to me on my 1997 850. It happen once when I tried to max it out (at around 120mph) and then once on the city streets. When I checked the engine, there was almost no oil. Check you oil level because a)you drive a Volvo so they are know to leak and b) that's a very likely cause
