When may a child leave home without parental consent?

In most Western countries and US states the age of majority is

18. (In four US states it is higher: in Alabama and Nebraska it is

19; in Mississippi and Pennsylvania it is 21.) When you reach the

age of majority, or in the rare cases when you get otherwise

legally emancipated, you will be considered an adult under the law

and you can leave home without parental consent.
