On the right hand (passenger side) of the engine, just aft of the throttle body you should see a cap that looks very similar to the ones on your tire valve stems. Take this off and gently push in on the silver or gold tip. Make sure you place plenty of rags under and around the test port because you will get a little bit of fuel squirting out.
Release the pressure from the fuel system. Clean all nines and collectors. Remove the bolts that secureÊthe regulator to the engine and remove it. Use a new O-ring with the regulator. Install the new regulator. Re-pressurize the fuel system.
The fuel pressure regulator controls fuel pressure at the fuel injectors. It uses vacuum pressure to control the pressure. It is positioned on the end of the fuel rail. If they leak, fuel will go into vacuum line causing hesitation on start-up and the smell of gas at exhaust. Warning, Fuel is under pressure. Disconnect battery and release pressure before replacement.
use a breaker bar to release pressure on automatic belt tensioner
it requires a special pressure release tool
remove gas cap Removing the gas cap will not relieve any pressure between the fuel pump and the engine.
Your hydraulic fluid level is low, your hyd. pump is weak, your hyd. filter needs replacing, there is a spring release that is activated by hydraulic pressure under the machine, above the transaxle, if it does not receive enough hydrulic pressure, it will not release completely..

Sure wish I could get an answer to this question. I am completely stumped.
Goto the Fuel rail under the hood. it sits on the passenger side of the engine. It will have a black cap on it. NOT the A/c line. it's on the Fuel line. remove the cap and it looks like a tire value stem. Push it in and the pressure will be released.
I had this problem a few weeks ago on my 2001 silverado. I had to hit the toor from the outside with my shoulder like a football player might. The door then opened right up. I think I am going to have the problem again, as it seems that the door latch is worn and does not function correctly. I plan on replacing it soon
