It would be wise to do so, since you have to remove the timing belt et. al. to change the water pump. If you have to take one off,you might as well do both at the same time. If you're brave enough to take on a timing belt, then you might as well replace the water pump. It's 10 years old, so it's questionable how much it's got left.

How to replace a 1985 Chev Suburban's timing chain
Yes, and it costs close to 800 bucks!
This can be a complicated procedure and varies depending on the engine variant. Is it a 5 or 6 cylinder? Does it have intake or exhaust valve timing or both? The timing belt tensioner pulley should also be replaced when replacing the timing belt. The 6 cylinder engine should also have the termostat replaced as well when replacing the timing belt. I may be able to provide detailed instructions if I knew the engine size and year of the vehicle. Also turbo or non turbo.
you have a timing belt its be-hin the cover
it must be changed every 105,000 miles. Warning: This is an interference engine.
Four cylinder has a chain. Replace it when it breaks or has so much slack in it that it jumps timing. Replace the guides at the same time. They have wear limits.
