have the exact same problem on a 2001 sebring. we are working on it with mechanic/friend at a Chrysler dealer. problem appears to be either the switch(a one piece unit that controls all this plus the lights)or in a part called the bcm(Body control module). I'll let you know when we figure it out. email me if you want. did your display flicker occasionally before this happened?
Answerthere are two sets of fuses in the sebring.check both the under-hood fuses and also make sure to check the fuse located on the left side of the dashboard. the door must be open to access this fuse block. remove plastic cover from side of dash. on a 2001 sebring lxi, the fuse is in slot # 15. check the fuse marked "turn signal wiper/washer". this will be imprinted on the inside of the plastic cover you removed. when this fuse is blown, you have no signals, no wiper/washer, and no rear defrost. if that doesn't do it, start with the cheapest(easiest) stuff, and work your way to the expensive(hardest)stuff.first, change the relays. next, change the switch. sometimes, if you unplug the body contol module(hard to get to),then plug it in 5 minutes later, it will reset itself and the problem goes away. if not, you might have a bad bcm.they're pricey. most of the time its the fuse on the side of the dash. good luck.If it's stuck in defrost your battery died and messed up the computer. Disconnect battery for 5 or more min. Reconnect and it should ok then.
no, only with defrost or ac on or if coolant temp is hot enough
If this is the terminal mounted on the window, clear silicone is best.
The fastest way to defrost a windshield is to turn the defrost vent on without heat or simply open the windows. Another option is to warm the inside of the car by turning the heater on.
no heat to front window went defrost is on
on the dash below the windshield.
It is supposed to work that way. The AC is used to help remove excess moisture from the interior air so that the defroster can clear the window more efficiently.
does fan door motorized or on a vaccuum line when you switch from AC to defrost?
The 2005 Chrysler 300 rear window defrost relay switch can be found beneath the drivers side dashboard. The rear window defrost relay switch will be near the center console.
Your battery went dead sometime it messed up the computer. Disconnect the ground for 5 or more min. Reconnect and it should work Mine was stuck in defrost
Yes, the ac will run in the defrost position to dry the windshield.
Start driving with your air conditioning on defrost, the AC will defog the windshield but you need to be moving.
