every 75,000 miles also you must change the water pump at the same time. if you do not ! very costly repair to replace valve head.
About One or Two hours
Seven years or 70,000 miles. Change Tiing belt, tensioner and water pump at the same time.
every 90,000 km if breaks expensive internal parts out of line
Change the timing belt at 105,000 miles or 10 years whichever comes first. Also replace the water pump at the same time as it is driven by the cam belt. This will save you the labor costs later on if you did not replace it. The life of the pump is about the same as the belt and it will fail before the next belt change, so just replace it now. Know, that this is an interference engine. Fail to replace the belt on time, it breaks, and you will have serious engine damage.
Look at the belt. If it's shows signs of being frayed on the edges, or if it looks dry and cracked by the inner ribs, or if you hear a squeeling sound when you accelerate, or if you have more than a 1/4 inch play (push your finger on the belt), it's time to change your belt.
I'm not familiar with this model. But if the water pump is driven by the timing belt that is always worth changing at the same time also it is advisable to change the belt tensioner and any belt idlers at the same time Inspect the serpentine belt change if getting worn.
If the pulley wobbles or coolant is leaking out, it's time to change the pump. Or, if you have a vehicle with a timing belt and it's time to change the timing belt, you may actually save money in the long run if you change the pump at the same time since most of the labor is already done with the belt change.
Dose the 2006 BMW 530ix have a belt or chain and when should I change it?
It has no Timing Belt, it has a Timing Chain.
4 cylinder has a belt. You should change it around 90K.
You should change a timing belt on a 2001 Honda van at about 100,000 km it's always a good thing to also change the water pump, because it is in the same place. You save on time and labour and they usually go at about the same time. The last thing you want is to do the timing belt and the water pump go's on you then your doing the same job twice. Your best bet remove the top cover and inspect the belt for cracks or tears. I hope that answers your question.
The manufacturer recommends that you change the camshaft belt on your BMW 320 every 60,000 miles. Most of the time the camshaft belt will last for more than 100,000 miles.
