No one knows exactly when they were invented. All we know is that they have been around for many years. Many archaeologists have found drawings of the making of bunuelos found in artifacts found in Mexico. The artifacts suggests years and years of age. Which means they could be that they were invented 100 or even more years ago.
But thank goodness, they were invented because they sure are delicious! =)
