When you start your 1986 Honda Accord it idles at 2000rpm's and also squeaks a lot when you first start it the car also either overheats when driving for more then 10 mins or just shuts off?

The start-up squeak may be a loose fan belt causing slippage and squeaking. This can cause the engine to overheat. If the engine has a ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor and fuel injection this increase in temperature could cause the engine to stall. However, could the automakers in Japan be smart enough to install a safety cut off temperature switch to protect from overheating damage?
