Many possible things could be wrong here. Could be computer if by shut off you mean stall out. Coil pack, spark plugs and/or wires, alternator, battery, check em out, also could be one of the sensors like oxygen or maf, I would just take it to a garage and hook it up to a diagnostics unless you have a hand held.
