I have a 94 Nissan Sentra but it's the same body style. My starter is located right below all the air intake hoses. the easiest way to find the starter is to take the airbox stuff out and then follow the ground wire from the negative end of the battery (the only wire leading off the negative end) to where it attatches to the transmission. The bolt that that wire attatches to is one of two bolts that attatches the starter to the transmission.
Ususally 2 bolts go from the engine side to the transmission and one from the transmission to the engine.
starter is located on the side of the engine, down low and to the rear where the transmission bolts to engine block
I do believe, after just locating myself, that the starter for a 1989 Nissan Sentra is located on the back, lower-half of the engine itself. It's a small, inconspicuous part. To find it easier on this, and all other vehicles, just follow the positive cable line that comes off of your car's battery. It will eventually lead to the starter. (Be careful, there are other cables delivering electric to other areas of the vehicle, i.e. headlights, turn signals, etc. The starter cable will be one main bundle and will lead to an auto part, not an accessory.) Once you find the starter, and before any repairs are made, try light-to-medium tapping on the starter with a heavy metal tool (wrench, hammer, etc.) The fact that you have to do this indicates you need a new starter but, hey, 9 times out of 10 it'll get the car started. -Anonymous
Unfasten the alternater mounting bolts, detach the electrical connector and disconnect the lead wires.
disconnect neg batt cable, remove wires from starter, remove 2 mounting bolts top and bottom located where engine meets transmission on passenger side of motor. lift out starter... install in reverse order
I would think it would be the same as my 99, if so the starter is located on the passenger side of the engine below the intake manifold., there is 2 bolts one on top and one on bottom the bolts screw through th engine flange and into the transmission. Don't foget to disconnect the battery first. Also don't forget to hook your ground back up before you put your bottom bolt back in, the bottom bolt goes through the ground connector.
The 1999 Sentra starter is located right beside the transmission bell housing. That is the housing where the transmission bolts up to the engine.
It is located under the passenger seat held by 4 bolts.
Remove the positive battery cable from your 2001 Nissan battery. Remove the cables from the front of the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
THE STARTER IS LOCATED ON THE REAR OF THE MOTOR JUST BELOW THE INTAKE MANIFOLD IF YOU RAIS THE VEHICLE YOU WILL SEE IT HERE TWO OF THE BOLTS ARE ACESSIBLE FROM THE TOP ON THE BELL HOUSING THE OTHER IS ACESSIBLE ONLY FROM THE BOTTOM. GOOD LUCK.
The starter is located beneath the throttle body. Remove the intake tube, then the starter bolts can be removed and the starter replaced.
its a little of both. From the bottom you can reach the wires and the bolts just get someone to help loosen the bolts on the top and it will come right down.
The starter on a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder SE V6 is located on the bottom, left side of the engine. It is mounted in place using a series of bolts and a mounting bracket.
To remove a 1998 Nissan Sentra Transmission, you first need to locate all of the bolts. From there, you will remove the bolts. Undo any wiring or tubing that goes into the transmission. From there, it can be taken out.
2 bolts
jack the front end up --remove the two bolts holding it on . put the new one on get one bolt goin and then the other and bam.
11 including five mount bolts
