the fuel pump is in the tank and the relay is under the hood in a large fuse panel located most of the time on the driver side The fuel pump is in the tank. You will have to remove the gas tank to replace the pump. Be sure to repalce the connector if you repalce the pump. GM has had lots of trouble with the fuel pump connectors. okay fuel pump is in the gas tank but only change your fuel pump after you have checked your fuses cause ,sometimes the fuel pump will stop working but just like everything electrical runs on fuses so does your fuel pump! try it you might be saving your self alot of money. this happened to me yesterday

The fuel pump is in the gas tank. The relay is on the passenger side fire wall under the hood. there is a black plastic cover on the fire wall up above the valve cover. Remove the cover and you will see a relay all the way over to the right. it is the last relay on the right. That is the fuel pump relay. The black cover is about 12 inches long.
