The location of the belt tentioner is slightly different, but the serpentine belt diagram is the same as the Ford Taurus. I have a '95 Mercury Tracer with a 1.9 liter engine, and the pattern is identical with the '98 Ford Taurus. The 1.9 liter engine used with the Tracer, was used in other Ford models, so a quick cross reference with other Ford vehicles may also help if you ever need help with other problems.

You can find a Chevrolet S10 fuse block wiring diagram in the back of the owners manual. You can also find the fuse block wiring diagram at most Chevrolet dealerships.
I don't know where to find the diagram, but one wire from the button goes to the stator brown lead, (at terminal block under flywheel). The other lead from stop button, goes to ground.
It should be located on the evaporator case.
You can find a power steering diagram for a 1999 Mercury Sable in the owner's manual. You can also find it at certain auto part stores.
You can find a front door latch assembly diagram, for your 1996, Mercury Cougar from the manufacturer website. Many auto-parts websites will have the diagram.
