Where can a 14 year old find a part time job?

There are two phrases you should keep in mind:

"Paper or plastic?"

"Do you want fries with that?"

It's very likely that any place willing to hire a 14-year-old will have people asking one or the other of those questions. Not that you'll necessarily get a glamor job like that, of course; you'll probably start doing something even further down the food chain.

Unemployment is high enough right now that employers can be a bit more choosy and probably get someone older for the same cost as hiring a 14-year-old. Expect to start at minimum wage (or below; some kinds of jobs can legally pay below minimum wage), if you can even find a job. There are decided advantages to a business in hiring people over 18 (they're not limited to 3 hours work per day on school days, for example).
