I know someone who got one from Wells Fargo... You might also try Bank of America. They were issuing credit cards to people without proof of US citizenship and without SSN's. Not sure if they're still doing it though.

You can marry the green card holder but that does not affect your ability to work. Your right to work is completely tied to your OPT and then your H1B. If there is no gap between the end of your OPT and start of H1B then you can carry on working. If your OPT ends then you have to stop working and can not start work again until you have your H1B. Your marriage to a green card holder is irrelevant - you must have your own visa to stay in the USA.

H1B visas last 3 years. You can only have two and then you have to apply for a Green Card or return to your home country. Your wife and child can get H4 visas if you have a H1. Your wife would not be able to work legally on an H4 but your child can attend school. You can get a driver's license with an HI. You can only legally work for the company named on the H1B visa and no other company.
