The student’s college
Yes, you can. I am an undocumented student, who was brought from another country at the age of 2-3 years old. States California and Texas have had this act that allows undocumented (another way of saying "illegal") students to attend college, while not having to pay for nonresidential tuition. Under this act, you are considered an AB 540 student. You can google more about that.Btw, Visa/international students usually have to pay a lot more money to attend a university/college.
Many people work and go to school as a student. Working is a way many students pay for college. Often student loans and financial aid are not enough to cover college tuition and expenses.

Yes, it is. Wendy's isn't suppose to hire undocumented and that person can be deported by immigration.
No, he was a student there about 1961.

In California we just enacted a law called the "dream act" that allows students who are undocumented to receive private funding for college. This should include scholarships. As far as other states doing this I am not sure any do, but you could call the college financial aid office of your college and ask.
Bad grades in a class would keep a high school student from getting into college, because the student would struggle if not fail at the standard level of work, that is studied and expected from the college.
I believe 75% of the college students need to work to pay their student loans. It is an easy way to get work and there is not a lot of experience required for this type of work.
