look on the steering box, they are attached there and run to the Power Steering pump mounted on the engine front
all driver side
very basic.. and obvious.
how much would it cost to replace a power steering pump on a Volks wagon golf
low or leaking power steerinng pump fluid or hoses, loose belt on power steering belt or power steering pump going bad
Yes you can. The best way to go would be to locate a donor car for all the parts needed for the change over, such as the power steering box, power steering pump, mounting brackets, pulleys, hoses, nuts and bolts and belt.
You will need a pump, pump brackets, pulleys, belt, hoses, a power steering box and all the nuts and bolts. A doner vehicle would be good to have.
i believe it would most likely eat up the seals and probably damage the hoses.
If there is no diagram under the hood, I would have drawn a diagram before the belt was removed. Just saying.
Several different things will cause a power steering leak. You may have a seal leaking on the pump. The hoses get weak over time and crack. The steering gear has seals that will leak as well.
Yes you can, But you need a lot of parts. You will need to go to a junk yard and get the power steering pump and hoses, and the power steering arm under the front of the truck. That would be the cheapest way. your buy it all new then have some one install it all.
A diagram can help guide a person when they are building car parts. A diagram to help build a power steering box adapter would be between the maintenance manual and repair manual of these vehicles.
i drive an import also (mercedes), and have had multiple problems with power steering. to get to the point, if you don't put the mfr's recommended fluid in, it can dry up your hoses and cause them to leak. i would have a mechanic check your hoses, drain out the old fluid if you don't know 100% what's in there, replace hoses if necessary (cost me $100), and put the right fluid in. Hope this helps.
If it was ordered with power steering it would have it.
A diagram of the 1971 Chevy Nova steering column would include the ignition and the shifter information along with the steering column itself. This type of diagram is often found in the Chilton's manual for the year and model.
