I also have a 2000 328i and my BMW mechanic suggested I purchase the Prestone 50/50 (green & water mixture). You can get it at Autozone or any other auto place. Fill it until the top of the float is even with the top of the resouvour container. It has worked just fine but make sure before you add it, that their isn't any OTHER color in there besides green (other color of course would be orange or pink/peach)
