Since there is a growing number of vegetarians in the Philippines, vegetarian meat is becoming more common, mostly seen in upper class groceries like S&R, Rustan's, etc. It costs a little expensive though, almost amounting to 1,000 pesos a pack. An effective substitute for meat though is mushrooms, when cooked effectively. There is also the options of soy protein and gluten sold in Daily Veggies, somewhere along Banawe.
Being a vegetarian you dont have to buy expensive meat such as steak, vegetables cost less than meat.
Assuming you mean chicken laid eggs, all eggs are vegetarian. What defines a vegetarian is not eating the meat of an animal. If a person was to eat the animal that grew from this egg, they are not vegetarian. The eggs we buy from the supermarket are vegetarian.
Yes if you wean yourself and don't buy it
Check the ingredients. There is vegetarian gravy, but most conventional gravies are made with meat drippings. You can make vegetarian gravy, or buy a mix for it.
You can buy meat substitutes made of soy, such as soy dogs, soy sausage, soy "bacon", soy jerky, etc.
I saw it on the news one time and the answer is yes. But it's not as healthy for dogs to have no meat on them.
Any place that sells non-meat food! I would recommend a health food store or local farmer's market.
I'm a vegetarian and I don't mind telling people I'm a vegetarian. Sometimes it helps to tell people you are one because of a few reasons: 1. If someone offers to get you a meal they will know not to buy you a meat meal. 2. People won't eat meat in front of your face. (People still eat meat in my face on purpose... Malicious greed.)
Where in philippines buy a hugegenic
Boca and Morningstar Farms both have really good veggie burgers and other miscellaneous meat substitutes such as "sausage," "ground beef crumbles," "buffalo wings," and "chicken patties." Of course, Gardenburger is another good brand. Keep an eye out for Cascadian Farms products too...they make great cereal! In general, if you are going vegetarian eat as many FRESH fruits and vegetables as possible. Also, find some way to keep protein in your diet. Peanut butter on whole grain bread is a good whole protein source. Soymilk, tofu, and nuts are also good sources of protein. A lot of the meat substitutes I mentioned above are decent protein sources as well.
