Hello -
I have an 1987 Dodge Raider. The wires in the wire harnesses to the hazard switch had been eaten by mice.
I bought a new switch from a dealer (Mitsubishi dealer). Or you could get one from a junkyard. You will have to call around.
To loosen the instrument panel yo unscrew two ? screws on its underside. The hazard switch simply can be pried out with a small flat screwdriver.
Since the wires coming into the coupler were bad in both directions I had to cut out the couplers and then connect the wires together one by one. Tedious but not hard. I'd recommend using male-female quick release couplers instead o butt connector. Get a small wire cutting/striping tool - a large one will be difficult (but not impossible) to use. Don't forget the electrical tape. I had to use a magnifying glass to be certain what the colors of the wires were because they fade with time.
The part new cost about$100US.
It's easy. There are a couple of screws on the underside of the gauge cluster to remove, and then the gauge cluster is loose. The hazard switch can be gently pried ot using a small screwdiver. Very easy.
A Dodge Raider can be bought directly from a Dodge dealership. Online one may look into purchasing a Dodge Raider at Auto Trader, I See Cars and Car Domain.
On top of the steering wheel gear cover
Dodge Cavalier?
u need to replace with a turnsignal light switch . there is a short in steering column
There is no heat, it is leaking.
No such thing. Dodge hasn't manufactured semi trucks since the 1970s, IIRC. When they were purchased by Daimler A.G., Daimler already owned Freightliner, and saw no need to reintroduce a Dodge semi truck.
Call your local Dodge dealer with #'s.
The flasher relay, or "combo flasher," is located next to the hazard switch under the upper steering column cover. Simple remove the two screws from the lower cover and gently remove the upper cover. The relay is to the right of the hazard switch on the back side. Gently wiggle it loose.
Try checking the fuse(s) first, then suspect the hazard switch or the actual flasher, if it has one.
Start by identifying the cause of the problem, then figuring out how to repair it is easy. It'll either in the power supply, the switch, or the wiring. Start diagnosing.
There is no inertia switch on a Dodge.
