You can buy a new, book (paper) version directly from the Toyota website, but they are expensive. I don't know why they don't sell cheap electronic versions (are they really focused on profits from repair manuals??). I bought my repair manual used on eBay for a big discount over new so do some searching.
Finally, its totally unauthorized, but if you really search, you can find an electroinc (PDF) version of the echo/yaris repair manual floating around for free on the internet. I believe its technically the 1998 Yaris manual, but its pretty much identical to the 2000-2002 Echo manual although its missing some portions of the real manual.

yes
In the gas tank. I have 2001 Echo.
If you're looking for a Chilton or Haynes style repair manual for a Toyota Echo (any year 00-05) you will not find it because they never made one. The only repair manual is the one the dealer uses. It's based on the understanding that you are a pro and know what you're doing. I tried to replace my clutch in my 02 Echo and had a hard time understanding the manual. I found the manual here: http://www.scribd.com/search?cat=redesign&q=toyota+yaris+transaxle+removal&sa.x=46&sa.y=18 Good luck in what ever it is you need it for. Craig
Of course. Heck you could convert it to a diesel if you really wanted to.
2001 Toyota Echo doesn't have a timing belt.
search for echo manual torrent
Go to autozone.com..Repair instructions.Look for serpentine belt.May be a routing image there.
