It might also be fluid coming out of the transmission vent tube which is positioned above the driver's side of the transmission. After long trips, excessive fluid can eventually run down the transmission and appear to look like a leak. There is a bulletin referring to this which involves changing a major part of the inside of the transmission. We have a 2001 and just put up with it, checking the fluid every few weeks or so and degreasing the undercarriage when it becomes too messy.
