Where did Vasco De Balboa go?

Vasco De Balboa went from Spain to Asia across the Isthmus of Panama. His voyage in 1513 paved the way for a very different way to cross this Isthmus of Panama over 400 years later. There was no Panama Canal when he crossed this area to get to the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean.
