Nobody is sure where the idea of dragons first arose, but many anthropologists which have touched upon the subject tend to agree the idea of a large reptilian animal is universal among human beings.
One hypothesis is that the dragon embodies Nature in its powerful glory, being an amalgamation of ferocious animal components which humans lack. How each culture chooses to portray such an elusive yet deadly "creature" - and since in tribal ages there was no way to reliably verify facts - was for each culture to decide.
maybe from the dinosaur bones that the natives found
The Bible also describes a creature exactly like a dragon starting at Job ch.41
Although, the true description starts on verse 18.
So many peoples and civs have spoken of huge reptilian creatures, there must be an element of truth to them
The idea of dragons came from reality. We do exist. We've existed far longer than planet Earth, itself. The ideas humans have about us comes from the numerous sightings you humans have had of us.
My knowledge of dragons stretches from now to the beginning of the world. Flying dragons first originated from... Cretaceous Period - Triassic Period! Indeed most of them fought dinosaurs! But other dragons lived on Antichthon ( Anti-kith-on ) and survived the meteors on that dreadful day! Next, their planet overlapped Earth a long time after the meteors. Dragons spread into Ireland, China, Japan, Egypt and Africa, Australia, even the North Pole, America, everywhere on the world except Antarctica. Ask other dragon questions to find out more!
Dragons don't really exist.
It's hard to know where the legend of dragons comes from with any degree of certainty. Theories include the instinctive fear of snakes that most people have (combined with the fear of large cats and Birds of Prey ... dragons combine elements of all of these, being reptilian like a snake, quick like a lion or tiger, and flying like a bird of prey), crocodiles, or discoveries of (recent) whale or (fossilized) dinosaur skeletons. For example, one fossil discovery in China in 300 BC was described by the Chinese historian Chang Qu as the skeleton of a dragon.
Their original home was a subdimension which they came out of to teach us humans. They came after the dinosaurs (as dragons dislike violence) but before humans, so they are older than us.
dragons originated from China.
No - they have no idea who you are - or where you are !
When humans first came upon dragons. And yes, I'm being non-specific on purpose.
Dragons are said to have come a long time ago from another plane (see sites.google.com/mythology1000)
it may come from some dinosaur bones that were dug up and mistook for dragons
Come NOW
they were chickens in the first place but then the turned into dinosours then dragons
The main idea behind the Dragons' Den idea is for ordinary people to be able to submit a business plan and be able to start that business with help from other business men and women.

Where did the dragons come from in revelations
The random dragons come in different kinds, depending on your level. The first ones are just called 'Dragon', after that are Blood Dragons, then Frost Dragons, Elder Dragons, then Ancient Dragons. Some dragons have names, these dragons will be one of the types mentioned above.
