I think they must have we have some at home and I think they actually GROW from the fruit! I never thought they bit until yesterday when I found a series of clear bites all up my left arm and now it's itching like mad - I don't like fruit flies, they thrive in damp sugary environments and multiply by the dozen daily! I used some insect spray to get rid of them but found more alive - gat rid of all bad fruit and flower is my advice!
