You completely waste the injector cleaner. It has to flow through the ports which supply fuel to the engine to do its job. That's why the directions tell you to put it into the gas tank in a certain ratio to gas. It mixes with the fuel in the tank, flows through the system and out of the injector ports.


Where is the egr valve on a 4.3L 92 blazer and can it just be cleaned?

The 4.3L has an EGR valve right in front down below on the lower intake. it's a little tight, but very doable. It is held in by 2 or 3 bolts and has a gasket. yes, it can sometimes be cleaned depending on the severity of it. Use carb cleaner or some type of cleaning fluid and try that. You'll need to move the air ducting to the air cleaner out of the way. We cleaned mine and used a less abrasive cleaner (can't remember what kind several years have passed) was told carb cleaner is to harsh, and a few small soft brushes, small round brushes worked great for the ports. Be careful while cleaning can damage ports. Also, it is easier to clean the TBI 4.3 EGR then the MPI Vortec (has alot smaller ports) We also poured sea foam in intake while blazer was running shut it off before it died and let sit for abt. 10mins. poured the rest in a full tank of gas. read instructions carefully on the can for amount to pour into intake. Started blazer then took for a nice drive. We did this abt. 5 years ago and not had a problem since. 250,000 miles. The EGR Valve is prone to plugging up with carb (seems 2 B worse in the Vortec). I run injector cleaner cleaner through my blazer every once in awhile. I hope this helps


Will regular 305 heads fit a 350 Vortec engine?

No 305 heads bolt up different then 350 heads If they are 305 vortec they will bolt up. However they do not have the same flow. The 305 vortec head has smaller runners, smaller valves and does not have the same heart shape combustion chamber. Now if you meant the older 305 heads onto a 350 vortce then no they will not. The vortec uses raised runners and the ports will not match. On top of it all the 5.7 vortec has more flow then any other production head. Placing a 305 head in its place would be going backwards.

Use a new head gasket for a template. The larger hole should be 1/4", and the smaller one should be 3/16".


Will 68-79 heads work on a vortec 5700 block?

They will bolt to the block but the intake will not bolt up. The vortec heads have raised runners so the ports would not match. You would also be decreasing performance as the older heads will not flow like the vortecs do or have as good as a flame travel due to the vortecs heart shape chamber,.
