The clutch operates off the brake fluid reservoir...Fill the brake fluid
There are no adjustments on a HYDRAULIC CLUTCH SYSTEM. The clutch disc is ether worn out, or the clutch slave cylinder is going bad. Is the clutch master cylinder full of fluid ?? If not there is a leak in the system, and you are not depressing the throw out bearing far enough. and that makes it hard to shift.
Check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder reservoir (located under the hood, on the drivers side firewall). It's probably empty. You can add DOT-3 Brake fluid to fill it up and it may start working again temporarily after a few pumps. But, it was empty for a reason. You have a fluid leak somewhere. Could be a bad clutch master cylinder or a bad clutch slave cylinder.
u have a slave cylinder bolted on the side of the transmission, check to see if it is leaking,if it is ,replace and bleed,if not leaking .check your clutch master cylinder to see if its low, if not ,then u may need anew clutch.
A warped or otherwise damaged clutch disk or a faulty clutch master or slave cylinder could be preventing the clutch from completely disengaging when you depress the clutch pedal.
The clutch hydraulics have a problem is the most likely issue Either clutch master cylinder or clutch slave cylinder
Hi, The slave cylinder is on the side of the transmission. The hydraulic clutch system bleeder valve is on the slave cylinder. If you're bleeding the cluth, remember to have a jar and some clear plastic to bleed the system and never re-use the fluid you remove from the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder. Good luck and I hope it's a warm day for you. Please remember to use jack stands or heavy metal ramps. Steve H.
Your clutch is operated by a cable , it's not a hydraulic operated clutch on the 2000 Ford Mustang
It is ATF
Same place you check the fluid level.
The automatic dipstick is located in a tube close to the brake/clutch mastet cylinder. The manual has no dipstick. You have to take the speed sensor and speedometer gear out of the top of the engine. Fluid level should be to the bottom of the gear.
did u bleed all the air out of the system on slave there is a bleeder run hose from that to fluid in master make Sher hose is sealed open bleeder keep end of hose in hydro fluid and pump clutch until no air comes from hose 2 person job close bleeder
at the slave cylinder, you will need to remove the clutch inspection plate to do so.
