Drill a hole and then insulate the hole with a rubber washer so the cable doesn't chafe on the jagged hole.
You will need to drill a hole large enough for the cable being very careful not to damage anything on the other side of the firewall. You will need to purchase a rubber grommet to insert into the hole and then run the cable through to protect the cable. You only need to run one cable, as you can ground the negative cable near the battery. Why are you running a battery cable through the firewall in the first place?
Funny I just did this to my 95 Firebird, Take out the glovebox and the stuff under it and you should be able to reach the Firewall from there, just drill your hole there.
you have to drill out the rivits and get a new one i ahd the same thing happen so been there done that
No, a rotating masonry drill bit adjacent to a cable will not create a magnetic field and no it could not disrupt the electrical current within the cable .
If you cant find an openening large enough then you can always drill a hole and place a grommet in the hole and then run the wire through the grommet. Hope this helps.
a drill, be careful ... ;)
Find a spot near other wires or cable and inspect both sides to make sure you will not hit anything while drilling. Drill a small hole in the firewall in that area. Wrap the wire with electrical tape or use a grommet to keep the wire from chaffing.
if it is not a manual car you can drill through the mounts where the clutch should be there are 2 holes with plastic covers pick one of the two to drill through
Remove the window regulator and motor from the door as an assembly. Drill out rivets that hold motor to regulator and replace motor. Regulator needs to be riveted back into door for reassembly
There should be a location where you can go through the firewall where other wires are already there. Piggy back on that hole. If not then just drill a hole through the firewall, being very careful not to drill into any wiring or components. Insert a rubber grommet in the hole to protect the wire, and then the wire.
just pick a spot that's decently clear on both sides of the firewall. preferably on the battery/fuse box side of the car
