Where is the transmission dipstick located on a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero?

I have a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero, and there is no dipstick. There is a fill cap directly below the mass air flow sensor next to the exhaust pipe, and no it isn't always red, but it should have a little gear on it. As far as the level of the transmission fluid, there are many answers, and most are incorrect. On the 3400 (V-6) transmission (like mine) there is a fill plug on the passenger side of the transmission in between the transmission pan and the oil pan. The car needs to be level, put a drain pan underneath the 7/16 plug, then remove plug with the engine off. Ad tranny fluid until it spills out,.....with the plug still removed, start the car,....let it warm up for about 5 minutes,.....then apply the brakes and put the shifter in each gear for about 3 seconds,....then ad fluid again until it oozes out the plug hole,..... then replace the fill plug. If you just replaced the filter in the transmission, this could take 7 quarts of tranny fluid.

Where is the transmission dipstick located on a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero?

It won't have one. The owner's manual will specify what the time intervals are for a fluid change. If you lost the owners manual, you will have to go and ask the dealer.AnswerThis transmission in the Alero, Grand Am, and Malibu has a fill cap. On the side of the trans near the bottom is a plug you remove to check the level; similar to a rear end or manual trans. The car needs to be running in park and jacked up level.

Where is the transmission dip stick in 2001 Oldsmobile alero?

I had a 2000 Olds Alero 4 cylinder. There is not a dipstick for the transmission, it can be checked by hoisting the vehicle and remove the fill nut/cap. If the fluid is at the top there is enough. I would recommend taking it to the shop for this, as I do not have the specifics of where it is located. I have a 2000 Alero v 6 engine automstic trans and mine is what they call a sealed for life transmission, it does have a filler cap but no dipstick. so the previous answer would be correct to check the fluid level and as long as u have no leaks from the tranny u shouldn't have to add any if little at all, Sincerely, TONY ,, Indianapolis, IN.
