A 1998 Jeep Wrangler does not have EGR.
Looking at the front of the motor, the egr valve is located on the right lower side of the carburetor.
It doesn't have an egr valve.
It does no have one.
There isn't one on a 1995 Jeep Wranger.

A 1997 Jeep does not have EGR
The Egr valve is located on the rear passenger side of the engine. The easiest way to remove that I have found is to remove the under hood fuse box, battery, and battery tray. You can than get to the Egr mounting bolts.

The 2002 Grand Vitara EGR valve is located on top of the engine. The EGR valve will be between the engine and the battery.
