The OBDII terminal is located under the dashboard to the right of the steering column at approximately the same level as the hood release latch. A universal scan tool can be purchased for about $65 at Walmart or an auto parts store.
i have a 99 ford ranger xlt. my code scanner connector is not working,is there a fuse for it
Fuse ( # 17 ) is a 20 amp fuse for the cigarette lighter and Data Link Connector on a 2001 Ford Ranger if there is no power
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I believe the spout connector is by your COIL PACK
u need a scanner to set it
On the bottom side of the dashboard, in close proximity to the steering column,
On our 90 Ford ranger the wipers are on a pin arm. Just twist and pull the wipers off the pin. Rain-X makes a replacement wiper, but you will have to change the connector with the other one provided. The first one is removed just by pulling up on the connector. Follow the instructions for putting on the new connector and you will be set to go.
The EEC TEST connection should be in the engine compartment by the Power Distribution Box in a 1995 Ford Ranger ( EEC - IV , OBD I )
Bring to a shop that has an ABS scanner to determine problem
On a ( 1996 ) and newer Ford Ranger : The Data Link Connector is located in the lower part of the dash , below the steering wheel and between the inside hood release and the parking / emergency brake release . It is BEHIND a small plastic panel that removes ( or maybe flips up )
A 1994 Ford Ranger is OBD I / EEC IV and has an EEC TEST connection in the engine compartment by the power distribution box In 1996 , the Ford Ranger changed from OBD I / EEC IV to OBD II / EEC V and has a Data Link Connector in the dash , below the steering wheel , covered by a small removable plastic panel
