there is a plug in the rear differential some are on the back cover, on a Chevy they're in third member about mid way up on the drivers side
the only place you put gear oil is in the rear end. Look on the differential and on the back there is a large nut, remove it to put in the CORRECT gear oil.
gear oil if it has posie put in the adtivive
about 4
The gear oil is put in just to the right of the gearbox facing foward when you're under the car. It shouldn't be too hard.
If you are checking the rear end, there is a bolt on the back side of the pumpkin( facing the rear) Take the bolt out and there should be a thin trickle of gear oil running out. If not, put 80-90 gear oil in until there is a thin trickle running out.
The only place you would use gear oil is in the rear differential and or front differential if it is a 4+4. The differentials have a fill plug.
there is an oil filler plug/bolt located on the diff cover. open it up, put oil in until it starts to spill out, put the plug back in.
Gears in a car change where the powerband (or Torque) are in the RPM range relative to what gear it's in. When a car is put into 1st gear, the "power" in the car is very very low in the RPM range and this is why a car is put into a low gear when climbing a hill or steep grade.
In general, Gear oil. However there are different types of differentials that require different additives. Go to a Napa, autozone etc., with the details for your car and they'll get you the right stuff.
car starts but when i put it in gear it stop
80W-90 (GL-5) gear oil
The 87 comaro if stock takes GL90 gear oil , if its a posi you will need a special additive Good luck
