OLD Answer: Unless you have a leak, not necessary to add fluid. The add port is located on the side of the transmission near the top.
Better Answer: Check your auto's specifications for how often to change the manual Transmission Fluid. Some transmissions use hypoid gera oil, some use Dexron/Mercon, some use 5W30 motor oil...some are 12K miles some are 60K miles between changes. Always remove the fill port plug first (in case you have trouble removing it, your transmission won't be empty)... the fill plug is usually near the top of the gear box, some are on the side, and some are in the back and some on the front. You just have to hunt around until you see it ... it will sometimes match the drain plug in size and removal means (hex head or Allen socket or?). Depending upon the access you may be able to use a funnel with a hose, or use a gear oil pump with a hose and pump it in, until full.
you dont put transmission fluid in a manual transmission. you need gear oil, and it should be done by a transmission shop
