The power antenna is raised & lowered using a nylon cord with teeth on it, the motor simply has a gear that is meshed with the teeth on the cord. Over time, the teeth on the cord get stripped, or the cord itself breaks, or both. The antenna with the cord can be replaced for a relatively small sum. Talk to an experienced car stereo professional, they see this kind of thing all the time and shouldn't take long to fix. First is the fuse, but probably it's the nylon strip with teeth that is stripped inside the motor. If the motor makes noise then it's the strip with teeth which can be replaced, the part is around $20.00 but you have to install it or have someone else do it. It's cheaper than buying a whole new antenna, but check the fuse first.
You start by figuring out what your issue with it is. Troubleshooting for a bad smell and troubleshooting for a lack of refrigeration are not going to be one in the same.
DO YOU HEAR ANY KIND OF NOISE WHEN HITTING THE SWITCH? HAVE YOU TRIED ANY TYPE OF LUBE? I WOULD ALSO SEE IF THERE IS POWER GOING TO THE ANTENNA WITH A LIGHT TESTER. START WITH THE SIMPLE THINGS FIRST. CHECK YOUR FUSE.
First physical pull the antenna all the way up, clean the antenna very good with a degreaser, then lubricate it with a silicon spray. Open the trunk, unplug the power to the antenna, start your car with the radio turned on, stop the engine, plug the power source to antenna back in. Try it now, if you still have the same problem, either the relay is stuck and needs replacing or the antenna motor is shorted and needs to be replaced.
Because something's wrong with it, obviously. To narrow down the causes, you're going to need to do some troubleshooting. I'd start by finding the relay which goes to the power seats, and test it for resistance. If that checks out, I'd look at the electric motor.
you start a power point by going to Microsoft Office if you have it.
