The fuel filter is located by right side of the engine...It's in front of the master cylinder..
Yes , the 2.3 liter four cylinder engine in a 2006 Ford Fusion is fuel injected
There is one injector for each cylinder.
Follow the fuel rails to the fuel line and down to the filter. You'll find it on the driver's side, roughly a foot below the Brake master cylinder on the inside frame rail.
For the six cylinder Solara, premium fuel is recommended. The four cylinder specifies regular. That said, you 'can' run regular (87 octane ron/mon) in the six cylinder. The engine control computer will detect any pre-ignition that might be caused by the lower octane fuel and will retard timing or make other adjustments until it stops. There's a price for this. Retarded timing generally means less power and higher fuel consumption so you need to carefully weigh whether you're actually saving money by using slightly cheaper fuel. Cheers
That information is in your owners manual or, if you had a 6-cylinder Solara there would be a sticker next to the gas cap (perhaps inside the filler port door) indicating premium fuel is recommended. That said, the 6-cylinder runs fine on 87 octane (RON+MON/2) but the ECU will dial back the timing until no pre-ignition is detected. The result will be reduced power output and fuel mileage. Cheers
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I BELIEVE if the fuel injector is restricted so that the proper air - fuel mixture is not getting to an engine cylinder , that an engine cylinder misfire can occur ( that is only one of the causes of an engine cylinder misfire )
It is a part of a fuel system that injects fuel into the manifold or into the cylinder of an engine.
A 3 cylinder engine : Compact in size, cheaper to built, light in weight, Less fuel consumption. 4 cylinder engine: bigger in size, smoother sounding than 3 Cylinder engine.
The fuel lines connect to a fuel rail that is bolted onto engine. The fuel rail holds the fuel injectors that enter into the intake manifold. The fuel injectors then spray the fuel into the intake manifold by where it meets the cylinder head. On the intake stoke of the cylinder the fuel injector will spray allowing the mist of gas to pass into cylinder via the cylinder head intake port.
The cc rating is the cylinder capacity of an engine. The bigger the cc, the more fuel can enter the cylinder per cycle. The more fuel is in the cylinder, the greater the force will be on the piston when the spark plug fires and it all ignites.
Check page 222 of your owners manual. It shows fuel tank capacity at 18.5 U.S. gallons (70 liters). Cheers
