Thermostat is located in the aluminum housing attached to the water pump. You can easily find it by following the lower radiator hose out of the radiator and going into this housing. There are two bolts that secure the housing to the water pump that once removed will reveal the thermostat. Make sure that you orient the thermostat with the little jiggly thing at the top and use a new rubber gasket around the perimeter of the new thermostat.

What kind of engine is in the 1990 Subaru legacy?

Should be an EJ-20 or EJ-18 (2.0l or 1.8l). You can confirm this by checking the manufacture tag on the firewall. Some were also released with the EJ-20 T (which is just the turbo model)

How do you change the thermostat on a 1996 Subaru Legacy Station Wagon?

the thermostat is located in the bottom of the engine. follow the lower radiator hose from the radiator to the plastic housing , this is where the thermostat is located. Now you need to drain the radiator, after draining the radiator remove the 2 bolts holding the plastic housing to the engine. They have a 10mm head on them. the housing will now come off and you will see the thermostat, it should pull right out. then just install the new one and then bolt the housing back into place and refill the radiator, and make sure you only use an original subaru thermostat and gasket. If you don't you can create more problems, including overheating and headgasket problems. Trust me I've been fixing subaru's for over 20 yrs

Subaru mirror fuse location?

I found the info about changing the 2001 Impreza Mirror Fuse on this PDF: http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/SUBARU/IMPREZA%20-%202002%20@@%20SPORT%20-%202002-_E But in short, there is a little compartment to the left of the steering column, when you open it, it has an arrow and says fuses. You pull out the little compartment, and behind it is several rows of fuses. The mirror fuse is #4, and is a yellow 20 fuse for me. I took a spare fuse from the engine fuse compartment, and used the fuse puller that is there as well. The PDF above has a nice diagram, I printed that up, and put it in the compartment when I put it back together. Hope this helps. Very hard thing to find.
