jack ur car up, then go under from the front bumper. As u go deeper in toward the back, you will see a bolt facing toward the back in the center of the engine also at the bottom and NOT the one facing down to the ground, that's for the tranny). That's the oil drain plug. the bolt size should be 17mm... Although I have a 2004 Mazda 3 2.3, it should be the same spot and the oil filter is be4 the oil pan u will need a hexagon key to loose it, and make sure u have the correct size. I almost ruined my bolt on the oil filter. Good luck
