it brought with it a vast array of new concepts, doctrines, and beliefs. Detailed conceptions of heavens and hell, a new pantheon, belief in reincarnation, and the doctrine of karma all eventually worked their way into the fabric of Chinese life as Buddhist ideas took hold and spread.

Buddha (Buddhism) was largely influenced by Jainism. The Hindu religion and the teachings of Jesus were influenced by Buddhism. During the various hostile invasions of India the many varying belief systems including Buddhism became united against a common enemy. Jesus was influenced by Buddhist/Tibetan teachings during his sojourn in these communities from the age of approximately thirteen to twenty-five.

Answer:

Following the death ofthe Buddha, Buddhist ideas spread to the west as well as the east through casual contact (along trade routes) as well as specific missionary activities. Between the 4th Century BCE and the 5th Century CE there was considerable influence in the Greek civilization (e.g. Alexander the great's invasion of India). Scholars point to significant influences in art, philosophy and religion in the west originating from these contacts. The areas impacted would include those cultures giving rise to Christianity. A frequeently quoted similarity is the presence of the "Golden Rule" in many religions. As Buddhism is some 500 years old than Christianity, the source of the thought is more likely to be through Buddhism or its predecesor cultures.

There are no actual influences of buddhism. The Buddha simple saw a sick man, a dead man, and a suffering man, and an old man one day when he went for a walk, and he decided to run away from the palace of which he lived and cut off his hair and try to live like those people he saw by suffering (not eating), and sit under a tree and wait for an answer.
