Buddhism and Shinto
The most commonly practiced form of Buddhism is Mahayana Buddhism. The word Mahayana translates from the Sanskrit as "great raft". It is believed to be a vehicle that carries large numbers of people toward enlightenment.
Buddhism is the most practiced religion in Laos, followed by a significant portion of the population. There are also smaller communities of Christians and followers of traditional animist beliefs in the country.

Buddhism is practiced in 6 out of the 7 continents, unless there happens to be a Buddhist in Antarctica at any time. Buddhism is most prevalent in Asia and least prevalent in Africa. Buddhism is the fastest growing religion in Europe and North America.
Buddhism began with the Buddha in about 440 BCE and has been continuously practiced from then until now.

Buddhism is primarily practiced in Asia.
Buddhism can be practiced ANYWHERE in the world. It is easier to practice buddhism in the eastern countries however buddhism is now starting to grow in America and other countries over in the west. There is no set place where buddhism should be practiced because it is more of a way of life, not as much a religion.
Buddhism is practiced in all of the continents except Antarctica, (unless of course a Buddhist happens to be visiting). Buddhism is most prevalent in Asia and less prevalent in Africa. Buddhism is the fastest growing religion in Europe and North America. So Buddhists are everywhere and in almost every country.
