Tonga, while physically located in the Western Hemisphere, is actually considered in the Eastern Hemisphere for purposes of calculating the date. The international date line, which normally runs along the 180th line of longitude, swings in an easterly direction around Tonga and then back to the 180th line of longitude.

What the position of Fiji in relation to the International date line?

Although the line at 180° passes right through Fiji, the International Date Line at that latitude is relocated to the east sides of Western Samoa and Tonga. I don't know how many miles that is, but it's at least 6° of longitude east of 180°. (Western Samoa relocated the International Date Line to its east side in December, 2011, less than seven months before the time of this writing.)
