This part was updated, and a new relay from parts store will not look like the one you are trying to replace. Ours was a yellow box located up under the steering column. So if you bought one and can't find the part which looks like what you are trying to replace, look for a yellow box in the 97 Explorer, and apparently it is a blue box in the Ford Ranger. This replacement relay will work the flashers AND turn signals.
In the Montero Sport , there is no relay. The flasher is located on the left dash by the junction block.
The relay is located under the dashboard on the drivers side. Look up to the right (towards the center of the truck). It is bottom relay, whick is located within a vertical, black rectangular cover.
The 'switch' is integral to the turn signal lever mounted on the steering column. Not fun to replace. The 'flasher' relay is usually with the fuses or other relays. Check your owners manual for exact relay locations.
The flasher relay is located on the fuse block, which is accessed by a plastic door under the dash just to the right of the steering column. Once this door is opened, the relay block snaps out and down. The flasher relay is a round aluminum can plugged in to the back or side of this fuse block
I have been looking for a trailer tow relay all day because of a light problem.I located the flasher up under the dash right behind the radio on the drivers side its inside a black box that is facing left.
If both sides are out as well as the hazard lights then the flasher relay is suspect.
Yes, they are. It is usually located in the fuse box inside the vehicle. It is usually a circular metal looking thing and has like two-four prongs on it when it is pulled out. Hope this helps.
its on the inside of the car , driver side black box shape like triangle remove the cover,,the flasher,auto-windows and haz-lights
