No. You should not drive in overdrive all the time.
I believe that's 1995 and 1996 automatic transmissions
Its either in need of transmission fluid a fluid change or the bands are strechted
Eddie Bauer is just a trim level - one step above the XLT trim level The AWD ( all wheel drive ) system is used with a V8 engine only Wrong I have a 1997 model and it has a 4.0 ohc it is also awd
The only engine available in the 1995 Ford Explorer is the 4.0 L OHV, Ford started offering the 5.0 L V8 in 1996 along with the V6.
Well I have a 1996 Ford Explorer V8 All wheel drive Eddie Bauer edition and mine has a 130 amp alt. You can always call ford and ask too.
Just push the button in the middle of the dash above the climate controls. There should be 2 buttons. 1 says "4X4" the other says "low range". You want to push the one that says 4X4. I'm a proud owner of a 92 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. You will have to be in neutral to get it to go into low 4x4.
rear wheel drive or 4x4 capable
rear wheel drive ( and if equipped 4x4 capable )

The Eddie Bauer package is an interior and exterior trim upgrade so you will find it on 2 and 4 wheel drive models but many more of them were 4x4. there should be a 4x4 emblem on the fender or you can look under the front end to see if it has a differential like the back.
