The Powertrain Control Module (P.C.M.), formerly called ECU or E.C.M. for Electronic Control Unit/Module, is the on board computer or brain of modern automobiles that uses electronics to monitor all the functions of the car. For the Bonneville, the P.C.M. can be located inside the air cleaner assembly on the left side of the engine compartment. Make sure ignition is turned?æoff when checking this parts.
PCM is located in bottom of air box
The PCM is located in the right corner of the engine compartment under the air cleaner assembly and bolted to the chassis.
According to my Hayes repair manual the PCM is located inside the right front fender.
The pcm of a 2001 Taurus should be located under the hood. The unit is bolted onto the firewall on the passenger side.

The pcm is located on the drivers side of car, by the radiator.
Have you checked inside the car under the dash where the stering wheel is? But it's a PCM and BMC on the Grand Am's, and the scanner for the code is an OBD 2
