The blower motor is failing and drawing too many amps.

It is not adjustable. The idle speed is computer controlled with a AIS stepper motor.
The resistor is to the left of the blower, it is very hard to get to. You'll have to almost stand on your head to change it.
Replace the blower motor resistor block. It is located under the dash on the passenger side.
Assuming it is the 4.0 motor (you didn't say), it is right under the oil filter.
The 4.0L holds six quarts.

Sounds like the blower motor resistor. I just had the same problem in my '94 Grand Cherokee. I went to the scrap yard and got the same part for $20. The dealership wanted $200.
I have a 1994 Grand Cherokee with a 1990 Cherokee 4.0 engine in it.. So i wuld have to say yes to your question.. ( i did not know it was from a 90 Cherokee until i had to buy some parts for oil change and none of the filters for a 94 would work.. :-)
Bad fuse? Bad switch? Bad selector switch? Chck to see if motor is getting power and ground. If so probably a bad blower motor
