Check your brake fluid level.
The type of engine under the hood. Well known for blowing head gaskets.
Light is usually comes on, when there is a problem with pressure in brake lines. Inspect the brake fluid level, and check for leaks.
It is located on the firewall between the brake master cylinder and the wheel well. It should be have a round black cap on top. It is about three by an inch and ahalf. Do not confuse this with the brake master cylinder.
Well, if the brake fluid is fine, yet there is a message saying "brake fluid" or "low brake fluid level", then there is a possibility that that the float sensor in the reservoir is faulty, the wiring leading to the sensor is faulty, or the computer is faulty.
check your brake fluid in the reservoir and be sure it is topped off, most corollas have a sensor in the reservoir to detect low fluid level which can happen over time as your brakes wear. I dont think it is a stuck switch for the parking brake since the light for it is usually a (p) but if it is not you may need to check it as well.
Usually it happens when there is not enough brake fluid in the system or you have some air. You need to check first one ASAP as well as second one. If you do not have enough the fluid you need to add it. If you have some air in the system you have bleed it.Also make sure to check all brake lines for leaks.
Well the first thing that you would want to do is to check your vehicles brake fluid. Typically, if the brake fluid is low then your brake pads probably need to be changed.
Locate and identify the master cylinder. Remove top and suction out brake fluid ( A turkey baster works well for this. Remove all steel brake lines, primary and secondary. Unhook wires for low level sensor, Unbolt and remove master cylinder. Install new or rebult one same way opposite order, Refill with DOT and Toyota approved brake fluid. Then VERY important: bleed all four corners until you have NO air and clean clear brake fluid, at least 3 times even if the first or second go~around seems to have no air. Please dispose of used brake fluid in a responsible manner. After 100 miles bleed them again.
Four Possible reasons... Low brake fluid - check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder Emergency brake is on - check emergency brake Low brake fluid pressure - such as a broken brake line or a bad wheel cylinder. Check the master cylinder to see if it is empty. If you add fluid and pump the pedal you will probably see brake fluid on the ground or on the inside of the tires. Possibly a bad master cylinder. - The fluid will stay full but you will have no or little brake pressure. Could be air in the system as well. BE CAREFUL If you happen to add power steering fluid or transmission fluid to the master cylinder instead of brake fluid you will destroy the system. Make sure you use ONLY brake fluid and clean the master cylinder cap off with a clean rag first so no dirt gets into the braking system.
Try checking your brake pad thickness and your brake fluid level. If pads thin, change. If level low, top off and check well for leaks.
Well, the engine in a 1974 vw Beetle is in the back of the car. So the brake fluid in front or the back to the left of the right.
